Fine Arts Requirement
Students in the graduating class of 2023 and later are required to complete one year of Fine Arts.
The Fine Arts Competency through Edgenuity may be completed instead of taking a full-year Fine Arts course. Completing the competency does not earn course credit. Instead, your transcript will include a notation indicating that the Fine Arts competency requirement has been met.
Who Should Complete the Fine Arts Competency?
The Fine Arts Competency is intended for students who need to fulfill the Fine Arts graduation requirement without enrolling in a qualifying Fine Arts course.
Who Does NOT Need to Complete the Fine Arts Competency?
If you have taken or plan to take any of the following courses, you will meet the Fine Arts graduation requirement through that course and do not need to complete the Fine Arts Competency:
- Band
- Choir
- Visual Arts
- Theater/Drama
- Ag Communications
- TCC Humanities
- TCC Public Speaking
Before registering, check with your school counselor to confirm whether you have already met the Fine Arts requirement.
