OHS Graduation, May 21st at 7pm

Dear senior parents,

Congratulations on your student’s upcoming graduation. Owasso High School is proud of the class of 2019, and we look forward to a special commencement event.  While this evening is intended to be a formal, dignified ceremony, it is also a time of great celebration. We need your assistance in making this a special evening.  We want to ensure every family has the opportunity to hear their graduate’s name announced so please refrain from air horns or other items which may take away from that moment.

Seniors should report to ORU for graduation practice at 9am on May 21st.  We will begin promptly at 9:00 and should finish by 11:00. Seniors do not need their caps and gowns for practice.  Seniors will report back to ORU at 5:30 that evening for commencement. The ceremony begins at 7:00pm and doors will open to the public at 5:30pm.  For those who need it, limited mobility seating is in sections D, E, F, G, H, & J rows 17-18. Handicap seating is in sections D, E, F, G, H, & J row 19. And hearing impaired seating is in section “L”, rows 1-3 where an interpreter will be present.  Also, there will be two concession stands open and two places where you can buy flowers.

I would also ask for your assistance in reminding your senior of a few important items.  It is very important for the dress code to be followed. Girls are to wear dresses or dress slacks.  Boys are to wear slacks, dress shirts and ties. Extra ties will be available upon arrival. If any senior has difficulty complying with appropriate dress, please contact a counselor.  Seniors should not have items with them during the ceremony which may be a distraction.

On behalf of the administration of OHS, thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to make this ceremony special for all students and families. Congratulations, and we look forward to seeing you on May 21st.
