My name is Megan Kannett and I teach English at Owasso High School I graduated high school from Owasso I went and received my bachelor's from NSU in education a long line of Educators and so most of them are here in Owasso with me and I wanted to come back and teach with them in the same school that I grew up in and graduated from I became a teacher in hopes of achieving what we want to do which is to make a difference I did not become a teacher to try to change the world but just the simply make a difference in my students lives whether that be giving them confidence academically or encouraging them through pursuing their goals and their dreams or just simply supporting them in their talents I want them to know that they have someone in their corner these qualities were instilled in me by the students here at Owasso and so I hope to pass them on and help foster my students through these elements as well as you can see on the wall behind me Ms. Kannett does a lot of marathons and has done that over the years I think that really contributes to how she relates to students just her drive and her grit she really help students develop that and helps them see that there's a lot more to their story than the right now helps them develop that perspective which is huge when you're working with high schoolers to help them see beyond the Here and Now I really think Miss Kannett for all that she does to make sure that she connects with students and help them develop their story I am very humbled and honored being selected teacher of the year I'm very proud of receiving that honor I'm proud of my students I'm proud of our school and I'm proud of our community and so I took a lot of pride in being a teacher at the Owasso High School my name is Megan Kannett and I am an Owasso Ram!
